This is the wiring I used on Wayne A's custom build. A Jazzy, Silky Smooth, Thinline acoustic with a Humbucker and an acoustic style bridge with an under saddle Piezo.
The preamp uses a Trim pot to set the impedance based on the Piezo you choose. I also use "60's" wiring on the Tone pot for better signal to noise ratio. Using my preamp with Bass-Mid-Treble-Vol trim pots, allows me to match the base output of the Mag pickup better, as well as set the pre-tone aspect of the Piezo side. The board is designed using Logarithmic pots for smoother audio from 0 - full on.
The blend pot has a center detent for equalizing the balance between the Mag and Piezo easily, and by adjusting the preamp properly at setup, they will be very close in volume at center detent.
The system works as follows:
1. Switch Pos 1 = Humbucker Only
2. Switch Pos 2 = Humbucker & Piezo
3. Switch Pos 3 Piezo Only
4. Vol up = Split Humbucker
5. Vol down = Full Humbucker
6. Tone up Switch Pos 2 = Both-Blend on (centered is =)
7. Tone down Switch Pos 2 = Both-No blend pot
8. Switch Pos 3 Blend pot max CW = Full Piezo only
This setup gives an incredible variety of tones, from raunchy electric to country acoustic and everything in between.
